Highlights •PVDF/BaTiO3 spherical powder was fabricated by combining solid state shear milling and plasma technology. •The spherification mechanism of powder was elaborated in detail based on theoretical calculation and finite element analysis. •The morphology and comprehensive properties of PVDF/BaTiO3 powder were improved significantly. •SLS parts prepared by spherical powder demonstrated improved mechanical properties and excellent piezoelectric output.
